Privacy Policy for NextBigNames

Last Updated: September 14, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to NextBigNames ("we," "our," "us"). We operate an online platform where users can vote in Battles and Creator Contests, browse creator profiles, and, where offered, participate in prize promotions. Your privacy is important to us, and this Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we store it, your rights, and how cookies and advertising technologies are used.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the NextBigNames platform effectively.

2.1 Data Collected When You Create an Account

Users sign up, log in, and reset passwords directly through the NextBigNames website. Behind the scenes, authentication (including email verification, secure password storage, and password reset emails) is performed by our authentication provider, Supabase.

We do not store your full email address or password in our database. Instead, we store:

  • Your internal Supabase authentication user ID
  • A masked version of your email (for example, a***@gmail.com)
  • Profile details you choose to provide (display name, bio, links, category, etc.)

Supabase stores your full email address and securely hashes your password. Passwords are never visible to us.

2.2 Data Collected When You Vote in Battles or Creator Contests

Our platform allows both guests and logged-in users to vote in Battles and Creator Contests. An account is not required merely to cast a vote, but email verification may be required.

When you vote, we may collect:

  • Your vote selection (the Battle Option or creator you chose)
  • The Battle or Creator Contest identifier
  • Your internal user/account identifier if you are logged in
  • Your email address when it is used for vote verification
  • Verification status (for example, whether a one-time code was successfully verified)
  • The timestamp of your vote
  • Cookies or similar technical identifiers used to remember a verified voter and help prevent duplicate votes

When email verification is required for voting, we may collect your email address and use it to send a one-time verification code, verify the voter, help prevent duplicate or fraudulent voting, and operate the voting process. We do not store the full email address on the vote record itself; we store a cryptographic digest of the email for duplicate-vote prevention. Temporary verification records (including a hashed code) are created to complete the one-time-code process and are then removed.

Providing an email address for voting verification does not by itself subscribe you to marketing communications.

We may use your IP address to rate-limit verification requests and help prevent abuse. We do not store IP addresses as part of the vote record. Guest voting may also use a security check (such as reCAPTCHA) operated by a third party.

For some Creator Contest votes, we may also store optional campaign or attribution data (such as UTM parameters or a link identifier) if it is present when you vote. Battle votes do not currently store that attribution data.

Guests (non-logged-in users): After you verify, we may set a secure cookie that remembers the verified voter so you typically do not need to enter a new code for every vote. That cookie is used to operate voting and help prevent duplicate votes. It does not, by itself, identify you by name.

Logged-in users: If you vote while logged in, we associate the vote with your internal user identifier instead of an email digest.

2.3 Button Click Tracking on Creator Profiles

We track certain button clicks (e.g., “View Instagram,” “View TikTok”) to provide creators with engagement analytics.

  • Which creator profile was clicked
  • Which button type was clicked (Instagram, TikTok, Website, etc.)
  • Timestamp of the click
  • Internal viewer ID for logged-in users (left blank for guests)

We do not store IP addresses or unique device identifiers for click tracking.

2.4 Usage Data (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how users navigate and interact with the site.

  • Device and browser type
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Interaction patterns
  • Approximate region (country-level)

Analytics does not receive your email address, Supabase user ID, or specific votes. Depending on local law, analytics cookies may only load with your consent.

2.5 Data Used for Prize Draws and Giveaways

We may occasionally run prize draws associated with a Battle, a Creator Contest, or the platform generally. Not every Battle or Creator Contest includes a prize. Where a prize is offered, eligibility requirements are shown for that competition. Typically, only users with an active NextBigNames account at the time of winner selection are eligible.

To administer prize draws, we may use:

  • Your Supabase user ID (to confirm eligibility)
  • Your email address retrieved securely from Supabase at the moment we notify winners

We do not store full email addresses separately for prize draws. Email is fetched from Supabase only when needed to contact a selected winner.

2.6 Marketing Communications

Marketing communications are separate from voting verification. Providing an email address to vote, completing a one-time verification code, or creating an account does not by itself subscribe you to marketing emails.

Creators who submit an influencer application may separately opt in to receive emails about contests, promotions, and opportunities on NextBigNames. If you have opted in and later wish to stop receiving those emails, contact us at support@nextbignames.com.

8. Payments and Payment Processors

If you choose to participate in paid contests or other paid features on NextBigNames, your payment will be processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store or process your full payment card number on our own servers.

During payment, you may provide information such as your name, billing details, and payment method to the payment processor. The use of your payment information is governed by the payment processor's own terms and privacy policy.

We may receive limited information from the payment processor, such as a transaction ID, the status of the payment (successful or failed), and non-sensitive metadata necessary for us to confirm that a payment was completed and to provide you with access to the relevant paid features or contests.

9. Advertising and Google AdSense

NextBigNames may display advertisements provided by Google AdSense or other advertising partners. These third parties may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to:

  • Display ads relevant to page content or general location
  • Measure ad impressions and performance
  • Limit repeated ads and prevent fraud

Personalized ads may require consent depending on your region. You may opt out of personalized advertising at:
https://www.google.com/settings/ads

10. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with:

  • Trusted service providers that help us operate the platform (for example, authentication, hosting, analytics)
  • Authorities or legal entities, if required by law or necessary to protect our rights or the rights of others

These service providers act as data processors on our behalf and are subject to obligations to handle your data in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

11. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers may process data in countries outside your home country, including countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). When data is transferred internationally, we take steps to help ensure an adequate level of protection, such as using Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.

12. Your Rights (GDPR and Similar Laws)

If you are located in the EU/EEA or in a region with similar data protection laws, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access – to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification – to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure – to request deletion of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • Right to restriction of processing – to request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability – to request a copy of your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object – to object to certain types of processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent – where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@nextbignames.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding to your request.

13. Children's Privacy

The NextBigNames platform is not intended for children under the age of 13, or under the minimum digital consent age in your region if it is higher than 13. We do not knowingly allow children under this age to create accounts or participate as creators.

If we become aware that a child under the applicable minimum age has created an account or submitted personal data, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information and, if appropriate, close the account.

If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@nextbignames.com.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
